Keens are mostly good for "wide" feet. I measured mine once, 22cm around the ball, 23cm length of sole. These are the only thing that fits me. Halle-fing-lulliah.

      COMMENTS:

Keen is known for their round, boxy, wide forefoot area allowing for toe spread, which, anatomically, is an admiral idea. A well designed hiking boot "hugs" the foot, allowing for control and steadiness especially on uneven terrain. This boot, however, does not fulfill that aspect which is much needed in a hiking boot. This is a well made, nice looking boot. As with all Keen boots I have tried, I have to go up 1/2 size for length. This may ultimately be the problem. I normally wear an 8. The 8 in these boots were just a tad too short, but the shoe did fit the rest of my foot quite well, including the ankle. With the 8.5, the length is perfect, but the forefoot is wide and "sloppy" for lack of a better word. Even a heavy sock doesn't help. I don't mind wearing 2 pair of socks for hiking, but it should not be a constant in order to get a shoe to fit. The ankle also increased in girth going up a 1/2 size, making me have to tie it so tight the tongue won't lie flat and buckles upward into a "V". I decided to try them for a short 2 mile hike over lightly uneven terrain. My forefoot slid from side to side with any bend in the earth and my ankles twisted also. My feet and ankles hurt after 2 miles trying to maintain grip and steadiness. These boots might good for people with wide to very wide feet. Anyone with normal size width or narrow feet should not buy these.

        COMMENTS:

After a first hike, these boots seem to fit as well and be as comfortable as my previous Keen boots. My feet seem to be a bit larger now, and 9s work in most shoes. I ordered these in a 9 and that gave me a nice extra space for my toes when going downhill (no jamming toes against the front of the shoe), even wearing good, wool hiking socks. The arch support is excellent, and the boots were very comfortable throughout the hike. I haven't had a chance to try out their resistance to water nor how they feel in hot weather yet.
