    • Winter Sports: x country skiing and show shoeing

    COMMENTS:

I bought these for cross country skiing and snow shoeing - they work great for both activities. The cinched legs keep snow out and if I end up on my tush for whatever reason, I don't end up covered in snow as it just slides right off. However, as I found with the Shoreline Shield soft shell coat, I like these pants so much that I wear them all the time. They're so comfy to wear at home on cold winter days and nights (we keep our thermostat fairly low) but they're great for outside activities such as walking the dog or shoveling snow. If it's really cold, I add a pair of fleece lined tights and I'm set for the coldest temps we can get here in MN. I wore them on a very long hike this past spring and ended up getting a bit warm so I just loosened the cinch and pulled them up over my knees to cool off a bit. I plan to climb Mt Brandon in Ireland this coming October. I'll need warm, water resistant but light-weight clothing. These pants, my shoreline shield soft shell, and possibly my frost lake fleece should easily fit the bill. Also, I'll be able to wear them around the towns and cities we'll be visiting. I'll be a walking Duluth Trading advertisement :-) I'll be ordering at least one more pair soon as I found myself wearing these almost every day last winter.

      COMMENTS:

I got my first pair of these pants in December. I have to say I wore them almost every day for a month. Sooo very warm and soft and really nice if you do not like to wear long johns. They kept me warm all winter...indoors and outdoors. I finally got a second pair in February! They are great outdoors work pants for shoveling...hauling in wood for the fireplace or just hanging out indoors. I wore them exclusively when it was maple syrup season and they do great for tromping around in the woods. I wear them everywhere other than to my real job! My only complaint is that they are a tad big in the waist and I wish they were adjustable but I just end up wearing a belt sometimes. LOVE these pants and wish they were available in more colors! I have the black and the smokey blue colors. I also have gotten lots of comments about how nice they look while out in public. Great value!

        COMMENTS:

I'm a guest teacher and like to bike as often as possible. I wear these on cold (30 and up) days because I can work up a sweat, and still look fine when I get to school. The elastic at the ankles keeps the pants out of my gears. They do tend to sag if anything heavy, such as my iPhone, is in the cargo pocket. Reading glasses fit nicely in the pokey things pocket.

Get these while they are available Ladies ! I live on the Southern Oregon Coast and love going to the beach. These pants are the best when the wind comes up while collecting agates on the beach. I now stay dry and not wind blasted. Love these, they are so soft and comfy, no binding, no swishing sound when you walk like my other wind/water resistant pants. How about a jacket made like this with a longer hem, and a hood ???

          COMMENTS:

I ordered these pants because of the color and the promise of wind proof wear. Boy did they exceed my expectations! I am ordering all the other colors now. It is rare for me to find a pant that is long enough and fits too. They kept me warm birdwatching to 30 degrees in windy conditions. Clean up very well too.
