      Comments about Noah's Rain/Snow Gauge:

This is our second one of these, we love it so much. We replaced the first one because after years of use, in the sun, it started to crack and the plastic became cloudy. This took close to 20 years so it's a really awesome product. Hopefully this new one will last as long.

      Comments about Noah's Rain/Snow Gauge:

Have enjoyed this product. Live in country and rainfall a problem in August and September, good idea as to status of well water supply.. Made moveable pipe stand to place in middle of yard.. Empyting can be somewhat annoying and have to watch rain and freezing temperature as probably would break. Gave two for Christmas gifts and recipients seemed to enjoy, as useful and not something "run of the mlill"

        Comments about Noah's Rain/Snow Gauge:

We've mounted this on a stake in the backyard so as to get the most accurate measurements we can on our property. The dog got it, the stake was chewed, but the rain gauge fared well -- not even a chew mark visible! We were impressed with the heavy gauge. The mounting mechanism is quite sturdy. It's not rained yet though so how well it works is unknown. It is certainly different from any other rain gauge we've purchased and we've owned about 5.

            Comments about Noah's Rain/Snow Gauge:

It is very accurate; the only problem is that you need to pull the tube out to read it. It's not the type where at a quick glance you know the rainfall.
Have not owned it long enough to judge it during a snowfall.

            Comments about Noah's Rain/Snow Gauge:

OK this is a heavy duty guage. Don't know how it will hold up to UV yet but will let you know. Made and designed to be a stand alone rainguage mounted on a post or pole or deck pole out in the open. It measures in 1/100 of an inch up to 1" at which time it spills out into the large section. Extremely accurate expecially for those that measure rain in 1/100ths of an inch. Made by Productive Alternatives, Inc. out of Fergus Falls, MN weight is almost 3 pounds. The only thing that is a little tricky is the inner tube has to be placed exactly in the center of the outer tube but it easily lines up with the funnel. I will definately put it to the test in North Dakota. I plan on mounting mine on a steel post with heavy duty wire securing the mount to the steel post.

I have been a volunteer rain "spotter" with CoCoRaHS for several years. This is the preferred gauge. Easy to mount; easy to use; easy to clean. DTC users may enjoy the CoCoRaHS weather service... interesting and rewarding. http://www.cocorahs.org/

                  Comments about Noah's Rain/Snow Gauge:

My mother had gotten my father one for Christmas and, after seeing it, I had to have one. It is a bit expensive but if you want the ultimate rugged rain gauge, this is it. No batteries to replace or erratic wireless signals; just a good old fashioned rain gauge. After a good rain it captures enough water to make a glass of southern iced tea.
It is very easy to mount and easy to read down to 1/100th of an inch, just like your local weatherman. The only remaining test will be how it stands up to UV exposure from the sun but time will tell.

                      Comments about Noah's Rain/Snow Gauge:

Great product, but I had to laugh when I saw the way it was mounted. Had the person who mounted it actually read the enclosed instructions, they would have discovered that it has to be: mounted so that the top is a minimum of 6 inches above the top of the object on which it is mounted and completely out in the open, i.e., away from anything that would cause precipitation to be directed/misdirected (splashed or partially blocked in any direction). Oh, and make sure you don't allow liquid precip. to freeze in it (when you're measuring snowfall during the winter) because it's plastic and it'll crack.
