Lifetime Leather Messenger

Received this bag for Mother's Day. While the bag is beautiful, I have discovered it is too big / bulky / heavy for everyday use. Great craftsmanship.

I use my bag everyday, except when it rains. I even use it to carry my grocerys. I am so glad I brought it for myself as a gift.

It's a bit bigger than I was use to but I love how it hugs my hip and hold everything I need for the day. For the first couple weeks I had it, the bag got more attention then I did.

I have never ordered a handbag on line. I always want to do my own inspection. My bag is perfect! It does have what I call "stretch marks" but all good quality leather has those characteristics. The bag was so much prettier than the picture. I have to admit I'm a handbag collector. I have a closet full of designer bags and this bag is one I love more than any other. I told my husband I was never going to buy another bag. My family was in shock and said no way. Well I lied. I ordered the brown tote last night. I have described this bag to my husband and have searched for this type of bag for the past thirty four years. I have finally found it. I hope the tote will be the same quality. My birthday and Mother's Day was perfect timing.

I really, really love this bag. I bought it because I decided to go back to school, and I needed a bag for my school books. The size is perfect for one or two, not very thick, books and a couple folders or notebooks. There are several interior pockets for pencils, pens, calculator, phone, etc. There is also a zip pocket that is the length of the bag. I really like the soft supple leather. I prefer that over a stiff leather bag. I think my only complaint is the clasp. It isn't conducive for quickly opening the bag, but it isn't a big deal. The bag looks like it is well made, but time will tell.

I often feel like even going to work each day I take half my house. Lucky for me, half my house can fit in this bag if I want it to. It's roomy, easy to carry, durable and very attractive. I've had many compliments and several people have asked where I got it!

I was looking for a bag to carry my 15" laptop. I was difficult to find one that would fit my bag and also be sturdy. This one is made out of 100% leather and it doesn't look too masculine. The only downside is that there is no shape to the bag, so it tends to get slouchy. Plus, I find the clip to close the bag a little annoying. I would prefer something easier to open and close. And it goes scratch easily since it's leather. Leather is one of those items that looks better with age.

I bought the Messenger Bag for my sister as a gift. We both wanted the bag. Her birthday came first so she got it. We both were extremely surprised at the quality of the leather and the sewing. The bag is just beautiful and I would highly recommend this bag to anyone.

I use it to keep Documents, Laws, Regulations so I can travel and have access to them in remote areas where I don't have internet access.

I have already recommended it to a Judge friend and he is planning on getting one for his work.

I've been looking for a professional looking, functional & attractive bag for well over a year now. I was very pleased with this bag when I first got it. The leather really is beautiful, and while it could be a bit roomier (an exterior pocket or two would be nice) it holds a decent amount of things. It even fits my laptop (15 inch laptop) which I need to carry with me nearly every day.

That said, the strap really ruins the functionality of this bag. The strap has become my nemesis, and it foils me on a daily basis. The strap has a (very small!) bolt that hooks through holes, like a belt buckle only much less useful. The bolt is entirely too small to make this strap work. It does not stick out far enough to stay in the hole, especially if I'm carrying... anything. Nor does the shape help - the bolt slips VERY easily out of its hole so that the strap falls apart. This is a bizarre design choice - hopefully someone saved a lot of money by opting for a flimsy rather than sturdy strap/buckle. I know I certainly enjoy my bag falling on me several times a day. It probably wouldn't happen nearly so much if I carried around only a few sheets of paper or a light paperback rather than a more substantial book or a laptop... but if I didn't need to haul around a book and/or a laptop nearly every day, I wouldn't have bought a bag this size to begin with.

Today the strap came apart as I was making a connection between two busses. In the time it took to catch the bag and get a firm handle on it, I missed my second bus! That was neat. I look forward to the day when I'm holding a hot beverage and wearing this bag; who knows what kind of shenanigans this strap, oh frenemy of mine, will cook up for me in the future!

Seriously, I am disappointed that the functionality isn't better. I just want to be able to count on my bag staying on my shoulder. I want my bag to not annoy & frustrate me on a daily basis (often several times a day!) I would not have paid this much for a bag if I knew the strap would be so flimsy. Too late now!

This would be a great bag if either 1) the strap was fixed/designed better, 2) you prefer to carry your bags around like a baby rather than using the strap anyway, or 3) you enjoy all of your stuff falling on you at any given point in your day. If the strap were fixed, I would give this bag 4-5 stars.
