Beautifully made and sturdy -- but no match for a NC summe

By Elinor the garden elf

from Hillsborough, NC

Pros

  • Fits great
  • Good Length
  • Really well made
  • Rool Up Sleeves

Cons

  • Doesn't Beat The Heat

Best Uses

  • Non-muggy Heat

I was hoping this shirt would help me stay covered up in the sun and protect my skin from bugs and direct sun as I worked outdoors. I am sure it would do a better job in a less muggy environment than July in piedmont North Carolina where the humidity is very high. I felt like I was in a plastic bag and was drenched in sweat in minutes. Still, I like this lightweight, sturdy and attractive shirt and will probably wear it often in the fall and spring.

I just ordered two more.. :)

By Trucker Dena

from Grass Lake, MI

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Cool
  • Great Colors
  • great fit
  • Nice appearance

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Shows dirt

Best Uses

  • Horseback riding
  • Trips to town
  • Yard Work

I bought this in light teal for myself for horseback riding. I was not disappointed. In 80 degree heat, it stayed comfortable in the woods protecting me from mosquitoes/deer flies. Even when standing in the direct sun, I stayed comfortable. The appearance is nice enough to wear to town before getting down and dirty! The only drawback I notice is that is isn't shy about showing the dirt. I found it washes up well not holding onto the stains. Most of my shirts are a medium; I ordered this one in a small. A medium would have been too large for me. Full price was expensive, but since some colors are on sale, I ordered two more!

Exactly as advertised :)

By DesertGal

from Scottsdale, AZ

Pros

  • Fits Well
  • Lightweight
  • Sun Protection
  • Wicking

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Everyday
    • Hiking in the desert

This is a terrific lightweight shirt for everyday use over a cami or tank top. Like all wicking fabrics, it seems less breathable if you are sitting indoors, although this one seems better than other (more expensive) sun protection shirts I have. wash, dry, and go again! Can't wait to travel with it.
And sun protection? Not a hint of sunburn beneath it after my 3 hour shift as an outdoor museum guide last Friday in downtown Phoenix.
Sizing seems perfect. I wear a small in your No Yank Tank and a small in this Armacillo shirt gives me plenty of room to layer, wear untucked or comfortably roll up the sleeves. (FYI - the gray plaid works great with the gray Dry on the Fly skort.)

    Great shirt

    By the walker

    from Chicago IL

    Pros

    • Broad Temperature Comfort
    • dries instantly
    • Flattering Fit
    • Nice colors

    Cons

      Best Uses

      • Casual work
      • Hiking

This is my new go-to shirt for nearly all warm weather activities. It dries in a flash and is smooth and soft-- good for sensitive skin. It puckers ever so slightly after washing, but this probably helps in hot weather.

I love how well this shirt fits! The back and shoulders are broad enough to allow you to move and bend, and the sleeves are the perfect length. The fabric is lightweight and breathable. I can't wait for more colors to go on sale!

            A love-hate relationship

I need to wear long shelve shirts in summer and I purchased these to wear for yard work, dog walking, hiking, and working horses. I originally bought one plaid shirt and was immediately impressed with the look, the feel and lightness of the material, and overall fit (small). The shelve is a little long, but not a problem. Prefer them that way than too short. The shirt length works good for me. I loved that I could throw it on and run to town to do errands. It seemed light and cool... so I purchased two more before ever giving the first one a thorough workout. It wasn't until I started working in them hard outside that I noticed a problem. I noticed underarm body odor like I have never before experienced in my life. I tried all three shirts, in hopes that it was just a fluke with the first one, but I had the same experience with all. I then tried my old long shelve cotton T-shirt and did not notice anything unusual. Only thing left to try is a different deodorant. If there is a breeze blowing the shirt is comfortable, but if no breeze it is a very hot shirt for me. It's humid and sultry in NW MO. I plan to still use them for town shirts and am hoping I can wear them layered in the fall and early spring. They are really nice shirts and I would have liked to purchased more in the future, but with the experience I had I will need to keep looking. Yes, they are a bit expensive, but worth it if they work out ok for you.

I prefer natural fabrics, but this is light and does the job. It is a pretty color, but I dont like the tapering.

            Too tight

            Best Uses

The fabric is soft, the plaid attractive, and the violet color pleasant. However the shirt itself is form-fitting.

Once I rolled up the sleeves, they were tight around my biceps, and when I buttoned the shirt -- well, let's just say it's not designed for full-figured women. I'd love to have another one, but will have to go a size larger than I wear in all other Duluth products.

The fit is good, the 3 colors I purchased are as represented. Great sleeve length & tail length. Will serve my purpose of sun protection while working outdoors. I really hate the fabric, though, so it's not likely I'll wear it for anything else.

I'm a Florida girl so hot a nd sticky is the norm for too many months. This shirt does feel cool great features, gusset and the roll up sleeves.
I'm visiting Minnesota now and did some hiking kept me cooler and rolled down the sleeves to keep the bugs off.
