My husband suffers from advanced arthritis and has a lot of trouble bending down to put on his shoes. This is a lifesaver - he's used plastic shoehorns, but without a wooden support, they break easily. When I saw this I was thrilled - we both are pleased with its performance. It also looks nice.

This was a gift for my father, and the wood is so thin at the tip that it snapped with his first use. I was embarrassed that what appeared to be a really nice oak shoehorn, was weak. He tried to tell me it was OK, and still functional, but it didn't make me feel better. I wanted his shoehorn to be distinctive. Now he has a distinctively broken shoehorn. I understand the tip needs to be thin, but maybe some testing before sale would weed out the weak ones. Thank you.
