I own a business that requires quite a bit of outdoor work, often during the cold winter months. I sought these socks because I like knee-length for warmth and coverage on my legs, and I like the thin design because they fit under any shoes and don't feel bulky. However, I also wear these socks around the house quite a bit. I got two pair at Christmastime, and have worn them about equally in the house without shoes and outside the house with shoes since then. It has only been a little over a month, and already one pair has a big hole in the heel. I was so disappointed! I expected them to hold up a bit better, especially given their exceptional rating and price. I am still hunting for the BEST knee-length, thin, warm, rugged sock.

Luckily I read a review and found out that these socks were thin! Just what the doctor ordered! I have scads of THICK smartwool socks - tall and short - but thick!
These are great because they fit under my tight-fitting non-bootleg pants and with regular casual (not boots)& dress shoes!

I wear these to work (my office is cold), out on weekends and around the house. Throw them in the washer and dryer and they come out just like the day you got them....I have 8 pairs of SmartWool knee socks and my kids know just what to get me for xmas!

These are great because of the length of the calf. They are a thinner wool, so would need double layers for backpacking and heavy hiking. They are great for around the house and out and about, keeping my legs warm. And they are so nice and colorful.

I found the Smart Wool socks last year and loved them. I didn't remember which catalogue I had purchased them from. I received a Duluth catalogue recently and found the socks in stripes and bought one pair. Loved them and immediately ordered 3 more. Top quality and stylish. I wear them for riding (they fit well under boots -not bulky but warm) and just every day wear with clogs.

I do like this product especially I like the knee high style. I do wish that these socks were a little heavier. I was disappointed in how thin they are. I naturally have cold feet and would really appreciate a heavier version of the smart wool knee high socks.
