I wear this for gardening and soccer. I need the wind protection most, and this delivers. It is warm enough but doesn't over-do it when I am playing soccer in 32 degree weather. It is not bulky, I can easily pull my hood up over it. I wear a size 7 hat and the S/M fits snug enough to not feel like it will slip around, but is not too tight. I do not have a pony tail but the hole in the back is not a problem, it does not gap.

This is so much better than trying to stuff my long hair into a hat since I usually have a ponytail when I am doing chores outside in the winter to keep the hair out of my face. This allows me to do that and keep my ears and forehead warm.

This was a gift but I picked it out :) It is wonderful for these cold winter days and really keeps your ears warms without being restrictive in any way. I even wear mine around the house. I can cut the thermostat back and still be warm.They're also great for going outdoors and not bulky like a hat. I can pull my long hair right thru it with or without a pony tail.
